ACADEMIC POLICIES

Students are expected to take:

  • Periodic continuous assessment (class tests and assignments).
  • The main examination comes up towards the end of each term.
  • The promotion examinations come up towards the end of session and the marks obtainable are the cumulative for the years as the case may be.

External Examination

Students will be registered for the following examinations

  • J.S. 3 - Oyo State and Federal JSCE (BECE)
  • S.S. 3 - WASCE/SSCE NECO May/June;
  • Sept./Oct. WASCE- (Private/Optional)
  • London GCE Cambridge May/June (Optional)

Note: the school takes serious objection to SS 1 (Year 10) and or SS 2 (Year 11) students being registered for SSCE or NECO or both in other schools. We only allow and encourage SS II (Year 11) to register for Sept./Oct. WAEC which normally comes up in their First Term SS III (Year 12). Any student (SS I or SS 2) that acts contrary ceases to be a bonafide student of Christ Ambassadors International College.

Promotion and Subject Selection JSS 3 to SSS 1

(Year 9-10)

As specified in the National Policy for Education, students are expected to pass the following subjects at credit level:

  • English, Mathematics and Basic Science to qualify for selection into the Science class;
  • English, Mathematics, Social Studies to qualify for selection into the Social Science Class;
  • English, Mathematics, Plus the Art to qualify for selection into the Art Class.

Textbooks

Parents are to buy textbooks, while big notes and tests booklets will be supplied by the school. Each student will be expected to pay the bill before the deadline given to enable the school place its order and avoid late settling down on resumption. Classes shall begin on day one and no student will be allowed in school without his/her books. The school shall be very strict on this.

Preparation Classes

Prep Classes are compulsory for all Students. Silence should be maintained during these hours. The prep tutors on duty will supervise the Prep Classes. The students are to study, make up their notes, do some corrections, find out areas of need etc. Extra assignments will be given to students from time to time to help maximize the use of their time profitably.

After School And Booster Lessons

There is after school lesson which commences after lunch from Monday to Thursday.The After School Lesson is optional and this attracts an extra fee. Students are encouraged to choose the subjects where they need extra help to augment what is done during school hours. Preparation Classes and After School Lessons are held simultaneously. While the After School Lessons is available to all, the Booster Lessons is meant for only the boarders. This comes up on Saturdays and the classes are held between 1:30pm-4:00pm

Saturday School

We undertake Saturday School between 10.00a.m and 1.10pm during which the week’s lessons are revised, students complete given assignments and projects and do group work under teachers' supervision and guidance. Practical computer classes are also taken.
