| WHAT IS THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM?
The Nigerian 6-3-3-4 educational system is operated. This simply means that each student is expected to spend six years in the secondary school, three in the junior secondary school and three in the senior secondary school. Toward the final year for interested students, the British Cambridge Syllabus will also be indicated in the school curriculum to prepare the students for the London Cambridge Examination
HOW MANY SUBJECTS ARE OFFERED BY THE STUDENTS?
At the junior secondary level a total of seventeen subjects are offered by the students, in the final year of the junior secondary school, students are allowed to drop some subjects. At the senior secondary level students offer a total of eight subjects and they are grouped into three divisions of science subjects, social science subjects and art subjects.
ARE TRANSFER STUDENTS ACCEPTED AT C.A.I.C?
Yes, we accept transfer students into the school. Unfortunately we do not accept into JSS3 and SS3 because these are terminal examination classes.
HOW MUCH DO I PAY TO STUDY AT C.A.I.C?
Our fees are reasonable and do vary from junior to secondary classes and between day and boarding students. Our fees are also reviewed bi annually. The first term fees is higher because of uniforms, exercise books etc., while the second and third term fees are lower. Contact the school for further details.
CAN I PAY MY FEES INSTALMENTALLY?
The annual fees can be paid in three instalments the first in September, the second instalment in January and the third instalment in April; however parents can also pay the fees in one instalment at the beginning of the session in September.
CAN I PAY MY SCHOOL FEES WITH A CHEQUE?
Unfortunately we do not collect cheques as we cannot guarantee funds in the accounts, fees are paid by cash into the school’s account and tellers are brought to school in exchange for the receipt.
I AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CAN I PAY AT MY COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE?
Provision has been made for students from some foreign countries. (Please contact the school to confirm provision for your country of residence)
DO I HAVE ACCESS TO MEDICAL FACILITIES?
The school has a clinic that cares for the health needs of the students. In serious cases, students will be referred to the hospital for proper medical care. (Please inform the school if you require medical assistance)
IS BOARDING FACILITY AVAILABLE AT C.A.I.C?
We have an excellent boarding facility, with over hundred bed spaces. You will be sure to find a warm and friendly resident welcoming you to a cosy and suprbly furnished hostel
ARE EXCURSIONS ORGANISED BY THE SCHOOL?
We organise excursion both foreign and local. Students are enriched socially and academically.
HOW MANY STUDENTS PER CLASS?
The college prides itself in having a maximum number of twenty-Five students per class therefore giving the students personal and cordial relationship with their tutors.
ARE SPORTING FACILITIES AVAILABLE AT C.A.I.C?
The school believes in an all rounded child, raising and developing talents in sports, therefore the school boasts of outstanding facilities such as Badminton Court, Multipurpose Volleyball & Basketball Court, Football Field, and a Table Tennis Centre. Students are exposed to healthy competitions within and outside the school.
IS THERE A CAFETERIA ON THE SCHOOL PREMISES?
We have a mini mart in the school premises where refreshments are sold, however the school provides tea and snacks to all students during the tea break. A tuck shop is also available in the hostel for boarders only. Lunch is optional for day students.
ARE THERE CONTRABANDS IN THE SCHOOL?
There are contrabands. Any item that is not listed in the college requirement will be considered as contraband i.e. medicines, coffee, tea and all types of food, poisonous substances, radio, acid, long earrings, cigarettes, knives, matches, kerosene, Boiling ring, Iron, Mobile phones, Mp3 Player, games i.e. PSP etc are forbidden in the school. Any such item will therefore be considered contra band
IS TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO DAY STUDENTS?
Unfortunately we do not provide transportation for day students. Parents are responsible for picking and dropping their children in school.
IS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OR SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE?
Some scholarships are available ranging from academic to talent (music, sport), to leadership, and missions- some are full while others are tuition only.
IS THERE STUDENT SUPPORT AND COUNSELLING?
There are counselling sessions available to students who want an opportunity to talk about confidential and personal matters. We have a counsellor who is trained and experienced in helping with matters of concern. There are other pastors and ministers who are available to give pastoral care and support.
WHAT IS THE ENTRY STUDENT REQUIREMENT FOR C.A.I.C?
The entry requirement for C.A.I.C is a good pass in the Entrance Examination organised by the school in English language, Mathematics, General Paper and Oral Test.
WHAT STUDY FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE AT C.A.I.C?
The college takes pleasure in having series of first class facilities with over ten laboratories namely the Biology laboratory, Physics laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Technical Drawing Workshop, Introductory Technology Workshop, Computer laboratory, Food and Nutrition Laboratory, Music Room, Fine Art Studio and a well stocked Library.
IS THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF STUEDENTS A PRIORITY?
Yes, the school is fenced all around with gates being manned by security men, and security dogs are also on patrol at night
IS THERE A CODE OF CONDUCT AVAILABLE TO THE STUDENTS?
Yes this is available and issued to all new students at the beginning of the session and all students are meant to abide by the code of conduct.
DOES THE SCHOOL SUPPLY EXERCISE BOOKS AND TEXT BOOKS?
Parents are expected to buy textbooks for the children while the school will supplies big notes and exercise books for tests.
WHAT IS THE CODE OF DRESSING?
The school dress code is the school uniform which the school provides; students are expected to wear a tie clip on the tie with black socks and a polished black shoe. Boarders are also issued three house wears but are expected to bring black suit, white shirt, and red tie from home for their church wear
ARE STUDENTS FROM OTHER RELIGIOUS FAITHS WELCOMED AT C.A.I.C?
We accept students from other faiths; however any child who professes any other religion apart from Christianity and is duly admitted to the college is bound by the principles of Christianity practised in this college.
ARE THE SCHOOL FEES REFUNDABLE?
We are not able to refund except in highly exceptional cases on humanitarian grounds as deemed by management
